Feature · Stage 6

A catalog isn't a folder of photos. It's a thing you send someone.

Group your designs, export a branded PDF, or share a private link a buyer can shortlist from — and get their selection back on WhatsApp instead of a screenshot.

What is a fashion catalog maker?

A fashion catalog maker turns a set of product photographs into something a buyer can actually use: an ordered, branded document or page with the design number, colour, sizes, minimum order quantity and rate attached to each garment.

In Vastram Studio the catalog is built from images you generated in the same tool, so the product details are already attached — the design number and rate you stored against a fabric follow every photograph made from it. There is no re-entry step between generating a shoot and sending a catalog.

Three ways out

The same catalog, three destinations

Catalog folders

Group designs by collection, season or buyer. A folder is the unit everything else works on — the PDF, the share link, the shortlist.

PDF export

A branded, printable document in a luxury or minimal theme, with an editable cover, per-design details, and a back page for your terms.

Private lookbook link

A live page, passcode-protected by default, that a buyer browses and shortlists from — and sends back to you on WhatsApp.

The lookbook flow

The buyer picks. You get the list.

The usual alternative is a buyer replying with fourteen screenshots and the word “these”. This replaces that.

  1. 1

    Enable sharing

Turn on the share link for a catalog folder. It generates a token and a six-character passcode, and runs for seven days by default.

  2. 2

    Choose what's visible

Decide which product details the buyer sees — design number, colour, price, sizes, minimum order quantity — so the same catalog can serve retail and wholesale audiences.

  3. 3

    Buyer shortlists

They open the link in any browser, no account needed, and tap to shortlist the designs they want. A running count follows them down the page.

  4. 4

    You get the order enquiry

The buyer sends their shortlist to you on WhatsApp as a structured message listing exactly the designs they picked, with the details you exposed.

Why the passcode is on by default

A link that gets forwarded is a rate card that got forwarded. Turning the passcode on by default caps exposure to whoever you actually sent it to — and you can clear it in one tap when you want an open link.

PDF export

For when the buyer wants a document

Printable, forwardable, and readable without a connection — which still matters more than it should in wholesale.

Themes
Luxury — a gold editorial layout for premium and bridal ranges. Minimal — clean and modern, for volume ranges where the garment does the work.
Cover
Editable cover details: catalog name, your company information, and the introductory line a buyer reads first.
Per design
Design number, colour, sizes, minimum order quantity and rate, drawn from what you stored against each fabric.
Back page
A closing note and custom fields — payment terms, dispatch timelines, whatever your trade expects to see.

The PDF is built from the same catalog folder as the share link, so a buyer who asks for “the catalog” and a buyer who asks for “the PDF” get consistent documents rather than two versions that drifted apart.

Because branding is applied at generation time rather than at export time, the images in the PDF already carry your logo, design number and rate — see branded catalog images.

If you’re assembling a catalog for the first time and want to know what actually belongs in one, the clothing catalog guide covers order, coverage and the details buyers look for.

English caption

Two to four sentences, warm and sales-oriented, for a feed post.

Hinglish caption

The same idea rewritten the way an Indian boutique owner would actually type it — not a literal translation.

15–20 tags mixing broad fashion terms with India and ethnic-wear specifics.

Questions

Catalog and sharing questions

What's the difference between the PDF and the lookbook link?

A PDF is a document: fixed, printable, forwardable, and readable with no internet connection. A lookbook link is a live page: the buyer browses it, shortlists the designs they want, and sends that shortlist straight back to you on WhatsApp. Send the PDF when the buyer wants a record; send the link when you want a reply.

Can buyers see the lookbook without an account?

Yes. A lookbook link opens in any browser with no signup. By default it carries a six-character passcode so the link alone isn't enough to view it, which you can clear if you'd rather share it openly.

How long does a share link stay live?

A newly enabled link runs for seven days and can be re-enabled afterwards. Links also auto-pause after a high number of views — a safeguard against a link being forwarded far beyond the buyers you sent it to.

Can I control what a buyer sees on each design?

Yes. You choose which details are exposed on the shared lookbook — design number, colour, price, sizes, minimum order quantity — so a retail lookbook and a wholesale lookbook can be built from the same catalog.

Does the PDF include my branding?

Yes. The PDF carries your company details and per-design fields, in either a luxury (gold editorial) or a minimal (clean and modern) theme, with a cover and a back page you can edit before exporting.
